Automatic download and installation of iOS apps

I have a list of ~ 100 apps that I need to download from the iTunes app store and install on an iOS device or iOS simulator. I am trying to automate the process for several testers.

They are not my applications. I have no source code. These are third party free apps.

Is it possible?

I am open to hacked / scripted.

Are there legal problems here?

No, there is no public API to automate these uploads for users. If you have all copies of these applications on your computer, you can sync each device.
