Disable GitLab-Email Verification

I recently installed GitLab for my company (docked container based on sameersbn / gitlab). When my users (authenticated with CAS) try to create their accounts, they receive a confirmation email. (which I have not configured GitLab to send)

Now I want to disable the email confirmation feature.

What file do I need to set up in gitlab? I don't want to modify the users.rb file if possible.

What parameters do I need to change.

it seems like there is actually no option (searching the official gitlab forum, github, etc.) finished setting up the smtp options, so gitlab can send those confirmation emails.
