NestedScrollView content not showing inside CoordinatorLayout

I have content inside NestedScrollView

that is not showing. The only thing shown on the display is the content AppBarLayout

. However, when I replace NestedScrollView

with the containing snippet RecyclerView

, it displays as expected. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong here.

EDIT: I just checked that if I completely remove AppBarLayout

and also the property app:layout_behavior="@string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"

in NestedScrollView

, my scrollable content will be displayed in the preview pane in Android Studio.
