Grunt installed on Ubuntu but not working

I installed Grunt by running the following commands in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install nodejs

sudo apt-get install npm

npm install -g grunt-cli

Below is the terminal output after executing npm install -g grunt-cli

Grunt needs to be installed globally, but when I try grunt --version

on the terminal it displays as shown below:

/usr/bin/env: node: No such file or directory

I tried adding /usr/local/lib/node_modules/grunt-cli/bin

to ~ / .bashrc but it doesn't help.

Even I tried to execute the command grunt

by going to /usr/local/lib/node_modules/grunt-cli/bin

but not hoping.

Please help me.

EDIT: Here is the outputsudo apt-get install nodejs

/usr/bin/env: node: No such file or directory

tells you everything. When you do apt-get install nodejs

, I suppose he places nodejs

, but not node

yours /usr/local/bin

. So just link to it like

sudo ln -s /usr/local/bin/nodejs /usr/local/bin/node

and it should work.

edit : it will

sudo ln -s /usr/bin/nodejs /usr/bin/node

for your case.

You must also install grunt in your project folder. The grunt-cli package is just a stub that references the grunt package that lives in your folder node_modules

.

npm install grunt
