Using image maps with html email android resizes incorrectly

When I open an email with an android app, it resizes the entire email including the images, however it doesn't seem to scale the image map correctly.

I know this can be done as we are using a similar system in another area where email images use a map with the same values ​​and the same image source. I don't see any differences in the html / css that appear to be relevant for images or scaling.

I tried to include image and maps inside div and table tags but to no avail
