How to change status bar color in level 19 android?

I have the following code. I can only see the color change of the action bar. But the status bar doesn't change.

<resources>

In API level 19, changing the color of the status bar is not supported. But the good news is that Kitkat has brought a transparent UI style to both the status bar and navigation bar.

There is a very nice library that allows you to tint system panels with either the colors or colors you want.

enter image description here

How to use

Step 1 Add this to your build.grade in Android Studio.

dependencies {
    compile 'com.readystatesoftware.systembartint:systembartint:1.0.3'
}

Step 2

Install theme attributes android:windowTranslucentNavigation

, or android:windowTranslucentStatus

in true

, or check the boxes FLAG_TRANSLUCENT_NAVIGATION

or FLAG_TRANSLUCENT_STATUS

in the Activity window in the code.

Step 3

@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);

    SystemBarTintManager tintManager = new SystemBarTintManager(this);

    tintManager.setStatusBarTintEnabled(true);

    tintManager.setNavigationBarTintEnabled(true);
}

There are many settings you can make with this library. Just browse the library page where I linked or checked out the sample app .

Add this code to yourself onCreate

    SystemBarTintManager tintManager;
    setTranslucentStatus(true);
    tintManager = new SystemBarTintManager(this);
    tintManager.setStatusBarTintEnabled(true);
    tintManager.setStatusBarTintResource(R.color.YOUR_COLOR);

And create a method somewhere in the same class.

private void setTranslucentStatus(boolean on) {
        // TODO Auto-generated method stub

        Window win = getWindow();
        WindowManager.LayoutParams winParams = win.getAttributes();
        final int bits = WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_TRANSLUCENT_STATUS;
        if (on) {
            winParams.flags |= bits;
        } else {
            winParams.flags &= ~bits;
        }
        win.setAttributes(winParams);

    }
