How to force dev to unlock a Windows Phone 8 device?
Surprisingly, after May 14, 2015, Microsoft announced that Windows Phone 8 devices would no longer be developer unlocked due to the expiration of MS security certificates. That date has obviously come and gone, yet I'm here with HTC Windows Phone 8S, a phone that won't get the 8.1 update but needs some developer testing. Does anyone know about this for the developer to unlock the phone? I tried to change the date to May 14th, however it doesn't work.

You cannot unlock it as a Windows Phone 8.0 device, but it can be upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1 using the Windows Phone preview . and then the developer will unlock it.
While early Windows Phone 8.1 previews did not support 8, an update has been available for this device since September (see http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2014/09/24/new-update-for- windows-phone-preview-for-developers / )
