Ggplot shadow background by month
This code:

Produces this graph:
Using R-code, I want to shade the background of the graph according to which day
this month falls. I want the plot to look like below (graphic background - Photoshop). I would be especially interested in a solution that uses lubridate
.

Here's part of the solution using geom_raster
.
