How to change behavior of Backspace key in Intellij Idea?

I started using Intellij Idea 14.1.4 a couple of days ago.

It works really well. But I'm going crazy for the backspace functionality. Instead of removing characters, he chooses it. I'm raging on this. I searched through the settings and couldn't find a way to turn it off.

Any help? Am I an idiot for not finding the toggle button in the settings? Ha ha

Disabling / uninstalling ideaVim plugin to fix the problem for me. It is outlined in the plugin description that you can tweak it using a script configuration in ~ / .ideavimrc, which can also be parameters to get "normal" behavior with the plugin installed, but I haven't considered that though, since the plugin doesn't seem like everything to me. which is useful to me. Hope this helps other people to fix problems with Intellij 14.
