Executing PUT, PATCH in python eve app returns, method not allowed for requested url

I have written web services using Python Eve. I am trying to execute a PUT request on an already created resource. I have defined item_methods

both PATCH

in my settings.py

file, but I get the following response when I make a call: -

{
  "_status": "ERR",
  "_error": {
      "message": "The method is not allowed for the requested URL.",
      "code": 405
  }
}

Following the payload of the request and the url I click on

URL: - http://127.0.0.1:5000/puburl/

Payload Request: -

[
 {
  "puburl": "https://github.com/tushar",
  "userid": "xFGellL",
  "_etag": "714df986e0bf802962a6b8cb4b9b1513e1709d7b"
 }
]

My settings.py

file looks like this: -

from DBSchema.DBTableSchema import DBTableSchema
from Configs import Configs

Any ideas why the challenge is failing.

At first glance, I would say that the url you click ( http://127.0.0.1:5000/puburl/

) looks like the endpoint of a resource (collection), and it PUT

is the endpoint of a document (item). Therefore, you add it to item_methods

, not to resource_methods

. You want to hit something like http://127.0.0.1:5000/puburl/<id>

that to PUT

work.

I think the problem is that etag should be in headers with "If-Match" = etag.

You can see more information about "Data Integrity and Concurrency Control" at http://python-eve.org/features.html
