Capturing a photo from SurfaceView

I am trying to capture an image from a custom SurfaceView camera. I installed the source code, but I don't know how to call the "take photo" method so that I can see the preview on the surface.

This code currently displays a live preview. I need to take a snapshot and access the byte [] array

Please help me complete the code:

I need to get bytes [] data so that I can convert the image to base64 string. How do I call the required methods for shooting using the above code?
