How do I stop my crashing toolbar when nothing else is shown?

I am creating a collapsible toolbar and it works well, but not how to stop it when there is no more data to display. Always collapses anyway. For example: if there is no data to display in the recycler, the toolbar crash should stop and prevent further mixing
