Setting Contactless Historical Bytes in GlobalPlatform 2.3

In GlobalPlatform 2.2 and earlier, the API method GPSystem.setATRHistBytes allowed me to change the historical bytes for both contact and contactless interfaces.

However, in GlobalPlatform 2.3 this method was changed and now only changes the historical bytes for the contact interface. Those for the contactless interface remain unchanged.

So far, I have not found a replacement method in any GlobalPlatform API package (including contactless extensions) that would allow me to continue modifying contactless historical bytes.

Does anyone know that this is still possible, and if not, why was it removed from the API? I guess there must be a good reason!
