TrueType font does not display PDF correctly from SSRS

I have True Type Font Verlag installed on my development machine and SSRS server. Font nesting value = "Preview / Print"

When rendered in pdf from within Visual Studio, it renders correctly.

When I deploy the report to SSRS server and extrude to Excel it is correct, but when I render in pdf the font reverts to the default font.

I've read a lot of similar questions but haven't found a solution. It looks like it should embed the font in the pdf correctly (this way the client doesn't need to install it on their machine.) But it doesn't even display it on
