Phonegap vs Xamarin: Which is Better for Cross Platform?

While most of the articles and posts I discussed were about Native vs Xamarin or Native vs Hybrid (Phonegap), I searched around and very little with Xamarin and Phonegap.

Me and a group of my friends are developing a photo sharing application and we want it to be cross platform . But we're stuck with the dilemma of going with Phonegap or Xamarin. While both are free for the price (except for iOS development) and we are familiar with the languages ​​and technologies used by both, we are at a dead end arguing over points such as:

• Developer support
• API availability
• Easy to debug and update.

Whichever platform that delivers the best of it all, we hope to go.
