It really is. Steelskin is not logged to a specific file, but to stdout. This is why you don't see any logon in / var / log. To get the log, simply redirect to standard output:
nohup bin/pepProxy &> /var/log/pepProxy.log
In this case, you will need to manage the logs with external tools such as logrotate, just like the RPM specification does.
