Laravel 5.4 gives wrong COM_STMT_PREPARE response size

I am working on a website and it worked great last month, all of a sudden yesterday it crashed and said Wrong COM_STMT_PREPARE response size. Received 7

.

This is my code in the controller:

I haven't found any solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If this helps the server at 000webhost, I've seen a lot of people have the same problem.
