"sass" versus "scss" spoken / pronounced

Scss is basically an improved implementation of what sass does. Scss files are used in my workplace. What is the correct or general way to refer to scss when speaking? We just referred to files as "sass" files. Is this acceptable in an environment that only uses scss and not sass files? Or is there a better way to reference scss files?

In the words of Chris Epstein , who is a core member of the Sass team (you can see his name at the bottom of the Sass website ):

Sass is pronounced exactly as it looks.

SCSS is pronounced "Ess See Ess Ess".
