Sorting QTableView fails after setHorizontalHeader ()

I got a strange problem with PySide QTableView

after I installed a new instance QHeaderView

via setHorizontalHeader()

. In particular, it seems that the view's sorting ability is breaking / can no longer be called.

Questions


  • Why does sorting break after setting a new header?
  • Why do the monkeypatching methods on the header view instance only work after setting a new header via setHorizontalHeader()

    ? (See wrap_size_hint()

    demo code.)
  • When registering children of a table view, why are there always 2 instances QHeaderView

    ?
  • What are the methods initialize()

    on QHeaderView

    ? Could they be useful here in any way? The docs are not that helpful .

Ok, it turned out to setClickable(True)

do the trick. It seems to be enabled by default in the header headers QTableView

, but not in the manually generated instances.
