Blue Amazon EC2 box next to "Disabled"

Blue box problem. Next to the label disabled

is a blue box next to my Amazon dashboard for EC2 services. The blue box has no tooltip.

For what? Is this friend or foe? How did he get there? Do I need this? Will it always stay blue? Can I change its color? Why is it a square? Why don't others have a blue box? I do not want a blue box. How can I get rid of it?

The box is the colored key for the graphs on the Monitoring tab. If you select mutiple instances, you can view metrics for multiple instances on the same charts, and the color key indicates which row is the instance.
