SourceTree 2 - How to Change Installation Directory in Windows

By default, SourceTree 2.x installs silently and chooses to sit in the directory C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\SourceTree

.

Running a move does not break it, but the updater does not work correctly - it still looks for the search version in the old location and the various tools it tries to launch from the original location.

I donโ€™t want it to sit in C:\*

, but in E:\

, I donโ€™t want its settings to sit somewhere deep in C:\*

, I want it to be compact and clear, but it seems that the new version [2.x] does not allow us anything change.

What you need to do for:

  • install it in a specific directory;
  • moving from one place to another without disrupting his access to his tools and means of updating;
  • change the location of options \ settings?

Still not possible. The issue is generated in bugtracker, but the priority is set to low. See: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREEWIN-7168

Currently, the only solution is to install version to 2.0. You can find the link for the latest 1.9 here:
