My google app instances do not seem to be in the correct region

I just created one google apps app and one second generation MySQL instance in eu-west2 realm . In the GCP console, they both seem to be in the eu-west2 region.

However, when I try to heal my ip, they seem to be in the US somewhere.

What can I do to use GCP in the eu-west2 region?

Google has an extensive worldwide network. What you see is redirecting you to the nearest Google Point of Presence ( POP ), which from now on is on a certain software network ( SDN ). This means we get your traffic onto our fast network as quickly as possible and abstract the details of getting you on the machine in question.



Check the latency from you to these hosts, then deploy a VM in Europe and check the latency from that VM on those hosts - you will see the numbers confirm that they are indeed in eu-west2.
