XA transaction support for consistency * Extending clients

I would like to bundle Coherence cache refresh calls into transactions using the Resource Resource Adapter to have full XA support. But this feature does not appear to be applicable for Coherence * Extend clients.

Is it possible to bypass Extend client workarounds to participate in global application transactions?
