Is it possible to undo (cmd-Z) a git checkout file in VSCode?

in Sublime Text, if the file was open in an editor, I could Cmd-Z to preview state after random git checkout [file]

. Visual Studio Code, however, seems to find it difficult to reset the changes without any way to go back. This is true?

git git-checkout visual-studio-code code-editor
