Are Android Google Api available in China and how can I test my app?

I am using Google APIs like Google Maps and Google Fit in my Android app and I would like to know if they will work in China.

And is there a way to test my application like it did in China? I tried looking for free chinese vpn but couldn't find anything.

Here is an answer from someone who has lived in China for 5 years.

Some Google Apis works, some Apis doesn't work, and some Apis works sometimes. It is very difficult to predict whether they will continue to work. China often tries to block Google servers.



To answer your question: Google Maps does not work in China and you will need to use Baidu Maps or Bing Maps. Unless people are using a working VPN ... in which case it will work.

From personal experience AstrillVPN is fine and should work 90% of the time if you want to test as if you were in China (but this may change over time);)
