How can I create a hologram effect around text coordinates in a qgis grid?

I am creating some maps in QGIS 2.18 composer manager. I can easily create a grid for my map element, but the latitude and longitude lines go right through the coordinate labels. Is there some solution that allows me to create a halo effect around the text, a kind of buffer? I don't want to move labels.
