Is there a reliable mail server in Windows 2008 Web Editor?

I am currently looking for a web host that offers Windows 2008 Shared or Dedicated Hosting for my ASP.NET application. On Dedicated Hosting you pay a monthly fee for Windows, I noticed there is a noticeable difference in cost between the web edition and the standard edition, so my question is:

Is there a standard version with MS Exchange? If so, is there a reliable equivalent in the web edition?

thank

No version of Windows Server 2008 (Web, Standard, Enterprise) ships with Exchange. They all have basic outgoing smtp capabilities, but if you want imap, pop3, or webmail, you need to look for a third party product.

As far as I know, the web edition is only for hosting websites. It does not include a mail server such as exchange. It should have an SMTP server and should be able to receive mail, but nothing like Exchange.

You may be able to install the mail server in a web editor, but I am lacking knowledge to know for sure.

In previous versions, you couldn't install sql server in web version. I'm not sure if this has changed.

Another good free mail server is hMailServer . I use it and its greylisting feature has really cut down on spam. However, I don't know if this will work on the web version of Windows Server.

I just read on the SmartTools forum that SmarterMail will launch in the web version.

Does anyone know the purpose of getting the standard version of Server 2008 through the web version? I am hosting ASP.NET sites with MySQL 5, SmarterMail and SmarterStats and need 4GB of memory. Will the Web Edition work for this? I just want to make sure it doesn't block ports or whatever. I read on another site that they do not allow the web edition to run a mail server. The price difference between the two is huge.
