Configuring pluggable windows in Visual Studio

When developing on a dual monitor system, I would like to make the most of the extra space by stretching Visual Studio across both. It's fantastic to see Output Windows, Breakpoints, Error List, Object Browser, and ReSharper windows all at the same time without making them tiny and dock them in the main window, which leaves less room for code.

I am hosting main VS window on a single monitor with tabbed and solution explorer windows. Any other windows I want to display are placed on the second monitor and docked. The only problem I have with this method is that the main tabbed window on the VS menu bar is the only window that can be maximized. Additional windows such as Solution Explorer, Breakpoints, and Error List can be stretched, docked, or closed. I often overlook the tedious work of selecting and placing additional windows only for that layout to be removed when I close VS.

Does anyone know of a VS add-on that gives you a window that (1) gets maximized and (2) other windows might freeze (ReSharper only 2)? Considering that anyone knows of a good resource to learn how to develop VS Add-ins? I try very hard to do it myself if necessary.
