The upgrade wizard does not ask for a renewal period.
I think supplier Cerficate is setting a renewal period. So it depends on the type of Cert you buy (or the setting of your certification authority).

The last thing I checked, trying to use any certificate that is good for more than one year causes the client to reject it anyway.
