Oracle: TNS-12532: TNS: Invalid Argument

Trying to establish a connection between my window (server 2003) and oracle database (11g).

I can successfully ping the oracle host from a window box. However, tnsping command fails with error tns-12532.

Any ideas for solving this problem?

From Oracle error documentation :

ORA-12532: TNS: invalid argument

Cause: An internal function received an invalid parameter.

Action: Usually not visible to the user. For more information, enable tracking and retry the operation. If the error persists, contact Oracle Customer Support Services.

Sorry for the obvious question, but have you confirmed that you can connect to the db from another computer?
