Increase WPM - High End

We already had this question , but I want to narrow it down to already speedy typists.

The original poster hit the 75 WPM barrier and wanted to increase its speed. I have a barrier where I can reliably type around 130 and sometimes I can hit 150, possibly depending on the distribution of words in the text.

I feel that the methods for increasing the speed from this high level to the highest can be different from going from 30 to 60, or even 75 to 100. Anyone have any suggestions?

You need to start looking at hardware ... Try different keyboards to get the best reaction keyboard for your input method. I find myself much faster on some keyboards, even though they are the same size with the same functionality ... the key response times are slightly different.

If you're trying to learn to type your favorite language faster, can I suggest you learn a better language?

When I have been typing dictation all my life, I could type over 120wpm on a dictation machine. When I type C I rarely go to 90wpm, but when I write lisp I don’t even reach 50wpm.

Time wasted typing is not wasted thinking.

If you're trying to learn how to print a copy quickly, learn to read faster faster. I have had great success using a fast, consistent visual presentation to increase my reading speed.
