Win2k8 + SQL Server 2008 x64 - AMD Quad Opteron vs Intel Quad Xeon - Real Tests

We are getting new servers. An attempt to understand the AMD vs. Intel battle. Is there anywhere to find unbiased performance comparisons of these two processor families? Should I stop worrying about it and put it in the "it doesn't matter" category.

Now, depending on your server usage, the extra n% that an Opteron or Xeon can give you may or may not have anything to do with you. Always consider the utilization you are going to give your servers when comparing processors and benchmarks.
