XML SSIS configuration file location

I am planning to use XML configuration files to run SSIS jobs on both development and production servers. I will be using SQL Server to store SSIS packages. I'm wondering if there is a standard place to store XML files in there. There is no need to create a project folder for packages as they will be stored in the database. So is it better to keep your XML files in a central location like C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft SQL Server \ 100 \ DTS?

I would recommend that you never put data on the C: drive. Ever. Even the configuration data. As a receptionist it used to drive me nuts. I spent several hours rebuilding the servers because some process went monkey and filled the C: drive with crap. I'm surprised the developer will have access to the C: drive.
