Multilingual projects in Visual Studio
Does anyone know if there are plans or extensions for Visual Studio for multilingual projects?
While the .NET platform is truly a polyglot, the Visual Studio project is a stubborn monologue, which means that all the work that goes into the C # and VB snap-in is unusable in newer languages ββlike F # and IronPython.
PEX is an example of a large Visual Studio extension that just doesn't work in F #.
Wasn't a modular system built into .NET to enable ployglot compilation?
Respectfully,
Danny

I work for Microsoft on the F # team and .NET libraries like PEX are supposed to fully interoperate with F # modulo bugs, so if you are blocked by something, please post this issue to fsbugs@microsoft.com.
In .NET, it is possible to create assemblies with multiple languages ββusing the netmodules concept: http://blogs.msdn.com/junfeng/archive/2005/02/12/371683.aspx . Unfortunately, I don't know if F # supports this (I doubt it).
In terms of getting tooling support for polyglot development, there are currently no plans to include this in Visual Studio. However, please consider this by pointing out http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio . People who are citing features for future releases are looking at this site, especially if it is of great benefit to the .NET community.
But for now, I recommend using F # for what is good - algorithmic development, data mining, etc. And use C # / VB for presentation layer.
