Can I legally take my work on a Visual Studio 2008 CD and install it at home?

I was told that Microsoft allows employees of any company using its products, such as Visual Studio 2008 or Office, to install them on their home machines.

Before I do this, is this correct? It doesn't feel right to me, but I know Microsoft has something called "Home Use Program" but I'm not familiar with it and haven't seen VS2008 at all.

Many thanks.

You can actually use Visual Studio at home. Check licensing on page 16: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=13350

Alternatively, you can use Office at home for personal use if your company's license covers HUP: http://hup.microsoft.com p>

The home use program is for office products, not Visual Studio unfortunately.

No, this is not true. There are no such rules for developer products.
