Is there a way to see the contents of the BlackBerry COD file to check what classes are there?

You can not. You can unzip * .jar content, not * .cod.

Earlier you could use some Zip utility like 7Zip etc. to see the contents in jad. However, I got an error with track files generated by newer versions of JDE

Oh, I think we can view the contents of the BB COD file. I am using Total Commander to view the contents of an archive file like ZIP, JAR, or COD. This is normal.
