DirectX Managed

This is a pretty deep topic, I think, so any URL with infiltration information is welcome. I've worked a lot with native DirectX, never really managed. On the other hand, mostly when developing other type of applications that don't need better gpu rendering, I usually stick with managed code like C #. Since the more popularity of C #, I've been considering trying some managed directx.

So my question is if there are any great cons and pros of using managed directx. Of course, the potential drawbacks I'm most interested in.

If I don't answer, I may have to go. Then I will definitely answer first thing tomorrow! I am looking forward to your responses.

Managed DirectX is deprecated by Microsoft. You can still use it, but it's probably not your best bet. Alternatives include XNA , SlimDX, and new managed wrappers in the Windows API Code Code .

Another alternative to the legacy "Managed DirectX" is now SharpDx . This has been benchmarked against XNA, SlimDX, and the Windows API Code Pack with favorable results .
