You can also check out these videos from MSDN which show basic coding (not playing, but might help you) on Windows Mobile.

You can register as a developer on the App Hub (http://create.msdn.com/en-US/) and download all relevant software there. If you have a WF7 device and want to test it on it, you need to unlock it for development purposes. you can find a guide for this in the app hub.
They seem to have very good documentation, plus this is C # (which is well known and well documented).
