Asp.net - what are the best latest tools / frameworks, etc. Look.,

Ok I did a bunch of asp as well as asp.net when it came out. A friend is starting a nonprofit and he wants me to put together a website for him. I figured I would kill 2 birds with one stone and look to brush up on my skills on the latest what the web has to offer in asp.net, web 2.0, etc.

The site requirements are pretty simple:

  • Organization mission statement
  • User registration capability
  • Photos, content
  • Blog posts
  • The ability to donate directly on the site (possibly through paypal)

So my questions are what are the best tools to get started as it will be hosted on the ASP.NET 3.5 Windows platform. Any other framework I should be looking at.

Where is the best place to start?

I could easily build a site just by putting together a spreadsheet and a bunch of static pages, but I figured out if it makes sense to use and help brush up on my skills, it would be beneficial to the learning curve efforts.

Feel free to suggest any other items that I haven't listed.

See how ASP.Net MVC and JQUERY also see S # Arp as a good platform for building your website. He sets up ASP.Net MVC with nHibernate and has a really good guide to good DDD framework.
