Are you using Google Chrome Frame?

Are you planning to require Google Chrome Frame to build your own websites?

Have you tested it?

Was your opinion on whether to use it or not change if Google requires it for Youtube? (This is required for Google Wave )

I wish they would require anyone viewing YouTube to use it. I hate programming specifically for IE ... If it was necessary for YouTube, I don't think any of the users I care about won't have it.

I had a hard time finding information on large sites requiring GCF, so I was a little worried about having to use it for IE 6 and 7.

But I continued to work on a site with 6-digit monthly users and the results were great.

The use of IE 6 and 7 was bombed and about 90% of that use was received by the GCF. Only a few complaints from annoying users, but telling them that โ€œjust click Installโ€ was a good enough solution.

Lost users were also less likely to buy than those with better browsers.

I know of at least one site that now points to it rather than saying they don't support IE6.

If you've made the decision not to support IE6, for some reason, it at least allows more users to possibly access your site.

* I say "maybe" because if users are unable to update their browser, it is completely unclear that they can / are allowed to install such extensions / plugins.

I'll always wait a bit before recruiting new technologies like this. I am a patient person and do not feel the need to rush and get the last thing first.

Once the consensus is that it looks ok, works fine, and doesn't hurt me, or my closest person, I'll take a look.
