Weird Visual Studio behavior? Can this be changed?

Question

I have a standard Visual Studio 2008 solution with three library projects. Nothing about them - even the default class1.cs file has been removed.

The first thing I do is open the links and then delete all of them except Core, System and System.Core.

Then I add a new class that creates Class1.cs.

Now System.Data and System.Xml are added to links again. What for? Is there a way to stop this?

Yes, there is see this blog post . By default, these links are added back when the class is added.
