Hosting a Virtual Private Server with Windows Server 2008 + MS SQL

I've seen this question on stackoverflow popup several times but haven't found a good solution yet. I'm looking for recommendations for hosting a virtual private server with Windows Server 2008 and MS SQL capabilities.

I've seen people suggest webhost4life.com, hostmysite.com and others, but they don't offer hosting Windows Server 2008, only 2003. I also looked at mosso and aspnix.com. Mosso seems like a good move, but hopes to find something under $ 100 a month, and I've heard of mixed reviews of the extremist on aspnix.com.

Thanks for the help.

I think I have found one that will be very promising. Applied.net just came out with server VPS package 2008. I also looked at discountasp.net which also looks like it can serve my purpose / application (they allow you to change the trust level I need)

Update 2: . Since this was posted back in 2008, I switched to dedicated servers from Serverloft ( http://www.serverloft.com/ ) where I get dedicated hardware for less money than shared / VPS in ServerIntellect ...

Original answer:

Update: They currently offer Win2008 for dedicated servers only, for all virtual servers 2003 ... As an aside:

I am using Server Intellect and I am very happy with them. Excellent bandwidth, excellent support (usually responds within minutes after ticket submission), etc. In addition to Windows and SQL Server, their VPS also comes with "Helm" (I don't use that) and SmarterTools mail + web statistics + ticket (I use all of these).

The only [potentially] negative thing I can think of is that their backup maintains individual file backups, so it's impossible to reproduce a "full system" image. (Or couldn't the last time I asked them, maybe has changed since then). A full system image would be neat as it would mean a much faster recovery if the server dies ...

Charles, are you currently using ASPNix ? How was the "product" before uptime, support and features. I am currently GoDaddy (shared hosting), it is reliable but ...
