Workaround for AS3?

Does anyone know how to fix errors in ActionScript / Flash regarding keyboard input of European characters?

Typing, for example, Portuguese characters works fine on PC, but not MAC, this error is present on both Flash 9 and 10.

It doesn't work: Á, Â, Ã, À, Ç, É, Ê, Í, Ó, Ô, Õ, Ú. Works sometimes (but usually only the first time): ç

Note that this is not an embedding problem, symbol insertion works fine. It is just a flash keyboard for user input and does not support writing.

On a Mac we tested this, we didn't use a Portuguese keyboard, if that matters I don't know.

This is a known issue when using custom wmodes in combination with firefox. the simplest solution is to avoid these wmodes.
