How many candles are in the box?

For a holiday that is currently described as [ck]? hann? ukk? ah? or so, 1 candle is lit on the first day, increasing to the last 8 candles on day 8. However, there is an extra candle each day that is used to light others.

So when you buy this box from the store, how many candles do you get?

In accordance with this , your menorah should have 8 candles and extra, which you use to light the other candles. Most of the sites I found had packages of 45 Hanukkah candles. (MAN! I'm bored while working on Christmas Eve or WHAT?)
