SQL Server 2005 sp3 stopped SQL service

I need to install SQL Server 2005 sp3. I need to know sooner if the installation requires a restart and if the installation will stop my SQL service. I got over 300 databases on my server.

Regardless of whether a reboot is required or not, it would be prudent to manage the risk associated with scheduling the bottom window in case something unexpected happens during installation.



If you are talking about a mission-critical production server, I would like to see all the worst-case scenarios run.

Yes. Installing SP3 will require a reboot (at least it always has 10 or so what I did).
