Export video to animated gif?

Are there any recommended programs that will output an animated gif based on video input? Mac preferred, but windows are fine too.

I mean I've seen others, but the SUPER coder will be. The interface is a bit clunky, but it was a handy tool for converting all kinds of videos from one format to another.
