Corrupt image file after downloading it using ftp command from linux, with ASCII type

Question

I am trying to transfer an image file using ftp command on linux, from linux platform to windows platform, doing like this:

ftp cs.unitbv.ro
ascii
get test.jpg

After that, when I open the image, it says the file is corrupted. If anyone knows how to repair an image file, let me know.

Try to translate it in binary.

pass it as binary, otherwise it will get corrupted as the converted strings are converted.
