Rendering over Adobe AIR

A co-worker of mine posted a question on his blog. He means providing MPEG-4 stream in saturated air. He wants to know basically two things.

Are there technical articles floating around this ...

  • Describe how AIR renders.

  • Describes a method for painting on an AIR surface in a way that does not affect AIR performance?

Does the SO community have any answers?

Since an AIR application is a container that loads swf or html / javascript content, I think the question is "How does flash work". So I suggest reading something about flv video codecs.
