Blogging integration capable of multiblock and (optional) debian package?

I'm guessing this question is only semi-programming related, but I couldn't think of another place to ask. Problem: I am using a debian server with a friend and we host multiple WordPress blogs on the server. The multiblog mechanism for Wordpress provided by debian does not care about having multiple content directories. As a result, we cannot use images on blogs at the moment.

I'm looking for troubleshooting advice or alternative blog engines that work better with multiple blogs.
