I want to check if the computer is .net 3.5 or 3.5 sp1 where I am viewing this information?

If you want a quick answer without a lot of work, you can go to http://www.smallestdotnet.com/ in IE and it will tell you.

Open VS, if you have one, click Help and click About. it should tell you the .net version, VS version and other additions.
